Pu-erh
Description:
Pu-erh teas are revered in China for their deep, earthy flavour and complex aroma. Our mature large-leafed variety brews an infusion with an almost coffee-like flavour. With longer brewing, a deep, red liquor transforms into a dark, thick and heavy one. A rich consistency with good body provides the base for a woody aroma and chocolaty overtones to shine through. A wise and mature tea with bold flavour and a taste well worth acquiring.
Brew:
Wash the leaves before brewing - pour hot water over leaves, swirl and tip the water out. For a concentrated brew, use 2 teaspoons per 100mls brewed for 3-5 minutes in water at 100 degrees Celsius. For a clear red brew, use 1 teaspoon per 200mls brewed for 2-3 minutes in water at 100 degrees Celsius. Good for up to 4 infusions.
Serve:
As is, use small Yixing clay pots or gaiwans
