Gyokuro
Gyokuro
Green
Description:
Exceptionally unique, carefully cultivated and delicately handled, this is the highest grade of Japanese green tea. Stunning glossy emerald-green, needle-like leaves expand and transform when brewed to reveal tender young green tea shoots. A vibrantly bright infusion with an almost fluorescent green tinge produces a sweet and rich aroma and a wonderfully thick, creamy body. Complex flavours, including baby spinach, fragrant flowers and savoury grass combine in a refined way from start to finish. Stunning in looks, taste and feel, Gyokuru is a sweet, smooth sensation that lingers.
Brew:
Using a small pot with an infuser is recommended. Use 1 teaspoon per 200mls, or 2 teaspoons for a small pot. First infusion, brew 1-2 minutes in water at about 80 degrees Celsius (or 2/3 hot water to 1/3 cold). Second infusion, 2 minutes; third infusion, 3 minutes. After third infusion leaves may be eaten, try with redbean paste for a delicious treat.
